Description

ViStart Longhorn V2
~counteralchemist

In the year 2003, Microsoft abandoned Windows Longhorn and started over from the Windows Server 2003 kernel. After four years, Windows Vista was born and took its place. The reason why Microsoft abandoned Longhorn is unknown.

Many people loved the elegant look of Longhorn. They loved it more than the one in Vista. Many want and try to restore its looks by means of skinning. That's the reason why ViStart Longhorn - Resources was born.

As the second installment of the package, ViStart Longhorn V2 delivers more realism to the look and feel of Build 5112. In this release, many portions of the Start Menu were refined. Some of you may notice, and some may not. But the important thing is, it delivers the same goodness of Windows Longhorn.

I updated this package with the latest build of ViStart. It also contains ViStart Build 2490 for computers that get the Error Trapper Window. Still, these two Builds may not work depending on the specifications of your computer. I also added the rollover as requested by someone.

Additional Information: For those of you who are confused, Build 5112 is actually Windows Vista Beta 1. Although it is Vista, many people may find the look of the Start Menu of 5112 and 4074 (Windows Longhorn) alike. That's why I included the word Longhorn in it's name.

This is just as nice as the other Longhorn.I don't know the reason why Microsoft abandoned Longhorn either, but I might do some research on that subject. Of course there is that alpha build of that OS at joejoe.org,but i don't think Longhorn should ever go any farther than the skinning stage or a visual style. Maybe the reason was that there were too many problems with making the gui interface work properly. Either way keep up the good work.
